Solutions Design & Optimise Component Explorer
Component Explorer
See how each part of a UAV affects the complete system.
The Component Explorer is not the full FF Twin platform, but a simplified way to show the system thinking and modelling principles behind it.
How to use it
- 01Select a vehicle type — Choose the UAV configuration you want to explore.
- 02Select a component — Click directly on the vehicle or choose a component from the list.
- 03Explore the challenge and solution — See why the component matters, which design challenges are often hidden, and how FF Twin approaches them.
- 04Move between components — Explore how individual choices influence the complete UAV rather than viewing each component in isolation.

The challenge today
Most development decisions are still made component by component. You can measure total energy consumption, but that does not show where the losses originate or which change will create the greatest improvement. A new motor affects the propeller. A larger battery changes weight and flight performance. A different payload position changes balance and airflow. One change can trigger several others. The result is often trial and error, partial optimisation and unnecessary redesign.
FF Twin solution
FF Twin models the UAV as one interconnected system. Instead of analysing each component in isolation, the model calculates how changes affect the complete vehicle. It identifies where performance is lost, which components offer the greatest improvement potential, and how one optimisation affects the rest of the design. You define the mission and requirements. FF Twin evaluates the system and helps identify the configuration that best meets them.
